Eligibility:
If you are interested in building a career in hotel management, you must meet certain eligibility criteria.This is as follows:
- Certificate Programs: Certificate programmes normally last for 6 months to one year. Candidates who have completed the 12th grade can pursue these courses.
- Diploma Course: The candidate must have a minimum percentage of 40% in 10th and 12th grade and must be efficient in English.
- Degree Course: To be eligible for Bachelor’s degree in hotel management, the candidate must score at least 50% in 12th standard and have English as a compulsory subject.
The candidate can pursue a Postgraduate degree programme after completing an undergraduate degree programme. This programme requires at least 45% in graduation from an accredited university.
Admission
An entrance exam is used to determine admission for various courses. The NCHMCT JEE 2022, usually conducted in April, determines selection of students for certain courses. Students can apply for the entrance exam in December. In addition to that, there are certain exams that are conducted by major hotel chains for getting admission in their training institutes.
Jobs and Career
After completing the course, the students will bag several job opportunities with recognizable hotel chains such as the Taj group, ITC, Oberoi hotels, Hilton group, etc. Merchant navy and cruises have a high demand for skilled professionals.
