Lakeshore Learning Alphabet Practice
Children learn the letters of the alphabet at different speeds. Most children need many different sensory activities to learn the letters of the alphabet. Also Read: Words that start with Z
Letter learning does not take place in a straight line from A to Z. Students learn from repeated stress over time and learn letters at their own pace. It may take only 1 day for one child to learn the letter A, but 50 different exposures for another child. I love having various resources and tools to learn the alphabet letters. One of my favorite ways is through Lakeshore Learning’s Create a Letter Activity Center.
This activity center is great because it lets kids study and delightfully create letters! This effect comes with a burlap-covered foam committee for kids to write notes on. They can use straight and curved pieces and plastic nails to create the letter.
Alphabet cards show the child which parts of writing letters.
I love the plaything hammer that reaches with it. It’s lightweight and durable for handling plastic spikes, similar to golf tees. I’ll notice that you may have to press the tab with your hand first to get started. My 3-year-old nephew loves to collect different letters of the alphabet! I enjoyed the challenge!
The Construct-A-Letter activity center can be used as a literacy center for nursery or nursery classes. It would also be nice to use at home for writing. I also love that it helps develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and engineering skills.
Create a Letter Action Center includes:
foam board red
Plastic Hammer
26 Alphabet Cards
36 plastic snails
8 large flat builders

Each page shows a letter of the alphabet and fruit that starts with that letter. You will likely see some fruits that are not available in the US. I had to get creative with X!
Do you have Magna plates at home or in the classroom? One way to use them is to create letters from tiles! This is such a fun and tactile way to learn the letters of the alphabet!
Kids can use the push stick to guide them as they form the letters. You don’t have to use printables, but it’s worth following if you don’t know how to make letters.
