Step 1:
In this first step of our guide on drawing leaves on the tree, we will not be drawing any leaves. At least not quite yet! Instead, we’ll draw some branches and twigs to which the leaves will attach. To do this, you can draw a series of curved lines that will begin to form these branches.
The line on the left will not be interrupted as a curved line, and on the right, you can draw a small stick sticking out, as shown in our reference image. Then, once you’ve drawn that part, we can add it to the next steps!
Step 2:
We will continue what you did in the previous step to extend the branch for the second part of your leaves on the tree drawing. The branch will have a long central part with several smaller branches coming out of the central one. In our reference image, this might look quite complicated, but if you take it easy, you should have no problem replicating the look of our example.
Step 3:
You have come to this guide to draw leaves, and you will be able to draw the first one in this step of our tutorial on how to draw leaves on the tree. You can remove the rather leaf in the lower right unit of the foremost step. Once you have drawn this leaf, you can extend the branch behind and further away from the main branch. This small branch behind the leaf will also have some small branches sticking out.
Step 4:
This part of your leaves on the tree drawing is where you can add many more leaves to the picture! For this step, you’ll add a few more leaves to most of the small branches you drew in the last steps. You will add 6 new leaves in this step, and your branch will look much fuller!
Step 5:
You can finish drawing all the leaves on this branch for this fifth step of our guide on drawing leaves on the tree. These leaves will go over any remaining empty twigs on the branch. You need to add 7 sheets to match our reference image. Now that all the leaves are drawn, there are just a few final details to add!
Step 6:
You’ve accomplished a fantastic job drawing all those stems and leaves, and in this aspect of your leaves on the tree picture, you can count a few last little pieces. These details will mainly consist of a few veins in each leaf. To do this, draw a center line across each sheet, then pull out a few smaller lines from that center line.

Step 7:
You have got the final seventh step of this focus on removing a tree. This step is about expressing yourself with beautiful colors for your drawing. If you want brighter, warmer colors, you can make it a fallen tree by using a little orange and red for the leaves. When you color your image, you have many options to color it. For nature-related images, it may be good to use more subdued mediums like watercolor paints or colored pencils, but whatever you use will look beautiful!
